CHILDREN'S ROOM

For decoration of children's room, creative ideas and imagination are primarily necessary. Since you create the space for your children, you need to include them in the decoration of this room. But, besides the fact that they have to be beautiful, the children's rooms should be functional as well. Children's room is a space that breathes, grows and changes together with the child. It is never finally furnished and equipped.

With a combination of vibrant colours and applications on walls or bed, a child simply receives its empire. A favourite comic, cartoon or fairy tale in the earliest age of the child may be the main motive for room decoration. Modern children's rooms include a thematic whole. Once you decide on a motif that will dominate the space, opt for the colour palette. For the room in which the children reside, it is best to choose bright, cheerful and warm colours. The most common colours used for children's rooms are blue, pink, purple, green and beige. Orange and yellow colours belong to the group of colours that stimulate mental activities, because they help memory and concentration.

Set the wall coverings with large details. The combination of multiple colours, stickers and colourful wall coverings further animate the walls. With a little patience and creativity, paint the wall of the rooms with your child's favourite motif. Do not restrain their creativity, but brush the door with a colour that creates the effect of drawing boards and let them express themselves. Your child's original work will add a personal touch to the room, and will be one of the most striking details in the same time. Drawings are the most beautiful children's room decoration. If the children's room is without excessive detail and colours, reduced, then opt for colourful bedding and pillows and the whole ambience will liven up.

Children's room furniture

When decorating children's rooms, take care of the materials you choose. It is desirable to use as many natural materials and those that prevent the accumulation of dust and allergens. Give preference to cotton, flax, wood, cork. Remove all potentially dangerous objects in the environment. On the market there is a great variety of devices, ranging from mandatory protection for power sockets, then stoppers for doors, shutters for drawers and cabinets, covers for the corners, strips for edges, fences... Do not use glass surfaces and avoid furniture with sharp edges.

It is necessary to put enough shelves and cabinets in which the children will tidy up the toys. If the children's room is of small dimensions, use the space above or under the bed. The lower parts of the bed can be made so to serve as drawers for storage, and tables so that the dismantling transforms them into a box for toys. Choose solutions that save space. The better designed shelves and space for storage, the chaos in the room will be smaller and easier for children to clean it away. Be creative – tabourets that can be opened, bunkers under the beds, various baskets and boxes... everything is taken into account. If you have more space you can make (or buy) bunk beds. Instead of a ladder, make drawers that serve as boxes as well. Bunk beds can be made in many interesting ways, but they come into consideration only when the children are old enough for them. Select a quality bed and mattress. The quality of sleep has a big impact on the concentration in learning and play, and a kind of mattress on the comfort and good posture.

Be imaginative and creative, and let your children lead you.
